Terms, privacy and service information.
Important information about using this website, requesting work, personal information, and the basis on which OnPoint provides technical and maintenance services.
Last updated 16 September 2026
These website terms provide a general operating framework. A written quotation, job card, maintenance-plan schedule, or other agreement accepted for a particular job may contain additional terms. If there is a conflict, the job-specific written agreement will apply to that job, subject to applicable law.
Customer terms
Terms and conditions
1. Quotations and estimates
Quotations and estimates are based on the information, photographs, access details, and visible conditions available when they are prepared. Hidden faults, inaccurate information, unsafe conditions, additional work, supplier price changes, or a change in scope may require a revised quotation. A quotation is valid for the period stated on it.
Unless the written quotation states otherwise, specialist reports, compliance certificates, permits, after-hours attendance, travel outside the quoted area, replacement parts, consumables, and work by third parties are not included.
2. Authorisation and access
The person accepting a quotation or requesting work confirms that they are authorised to do so and can provide safe, lawful access to the premises and equipment. Customers must disclose known hazards, access restrictions, security procedures, prior modifications, and information reasonably needed to perform the work.
OnPoint may pause or decline work where conditions are unsafe, access is inadequate, required authorisation is missing, or the requested work would be unlawful or outside the agreed scope.
3. Call-outs, diagnostics, and additional work
A call-out, inspection, or diagnostic charge may apply even if no repair is performed, including where a fault cannot be reproduced, access is unavailable, the customer elects not to proceed, or specialist work is required. No additional chargeable work will be undertaken without reasonable customer approval, except for immediate steps reasonably necessary to make a dangerous condition safe.
4. Deposits, invoices, and payment
A deposit or advance payment may be required for materials, reserved labour, specialist equipment, or larger projects. Payment is due according to the accepted quotation or invoice. OnPoint may pause further work, ordering, or release of goods where an amount is overdue, subject to applicable law.
5. Scheduling, cancellation, and delays
Appointment times are arranged in good faith and may be affected by weather, emergencies, access, supplier delays, traffic, power interruptions, or earlier work taking longer than reasonably expected. Customers should give reasonable notice when rescheduling or cancelling. Reasonable costs already incurred, specially ordered materials, or an agreed call-out fee may remain payable.
6. Parts, materials, and third parties
Parts and materials are subject to availability and any applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty. Alternatives will be discussed where practical. OnPoint is not responsible for defects in customer-supplied items, pre-existing installations, concealed services, or work altered by another person after handover.
OnPoint may use appropriately skilled subcontractors or specialist service providers where the work requires them. OnPoint remains the customer's primary contact for the agreed scope unless otherwise stated in writing.
7. Workmanship and reporting concerns
Customers should inspect completed work where practical and report a suspected defect in OnPoint's workmanship promptly, with reasonable supporting detail. OnPoint must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where responsible, remedy the workmanship concern.
Workmanship responsibility does not extend to normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised alterations, third-party interference, customer-supplied parts, hidden or pre-existing defects, or failures unrelated to the work performed.
8. Consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that may not lawfully be excluded under South African law. To the extent permitted by law, OnPoint is not responsible for indirect, special, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable from the agreed service. Customers remain responsible for suitable insurance, backups, security controls, and business-continuity arrangements appropriate to their property or equipment.
9. Complaints and disputes
Service concerns should first be sent to enquiries@onpointtechservices.co.za with the job details, invoice or quotation number where available, and supporting photographs. The parties should first try to resolve the matter in good faith and allow a reasonable opportunity for inspection or correction. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Scope and safety
Website and service disclaimers
Website content is general information and does not constitute a site-specific diagnosis, engineering certification, compliance certificate, safety clearance, or fixed quotation. Advice and pricing can be confirmed only after sufficient information and, where necessary, an inspection or testing.
Electrical, electronic, security, scanning-technology, plumbing, and general maintenance work may expose hidden defects or require isolation, specialist testing, regulated work, manufacturer support, or another qualified contractor. Any certificate, statutory inspection, calibration, or regulated sign-off is included only when expressly stated in writing and performed by a person authorised to provide it.
Preventative maintenance is intended to reduce risk and identify developing problems. It cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, prevent every failure, or replace repairs, upgrades, compliance work, insurance, or manufacturer-prescribed servicing. Repairs, replacement parts, consumables, and emergency attendance are excluded unless the selected plan or quotation expressly includes them.
External links and third-party products are provided for convenience or as part of a job solution. OnPoint does not control third-party websites, manufacturer decisions, supplier availability, or third-party warranty outcomes.
